“Ilford is my home.

I grew up here, I went to school here and I raised my family here – I know the area like the back of my hand.

I understand what local people want and need and I have the vision to deliver a better future for Ilford.”

I care deeply about this area, my neighbours and my friends, and I am determined to do everything I can to improve the lives of everyone in Ilford South.

Ilford South residents deserve an alternative to the near decade of austerity we have endured under successive Conservative governments.

We deserve better than closing hospitals and overstretched schools.

We deserve better than the politics of hate and division spread by Tory Mayoral candidates and government funded buses telling immigrants they are not welcome.

I have delivered as the Leader of Redbridge Council and now I am ready to step up and fight for my neighbours as the next Labour MP for Ilford South.

We should all feel safe and welcome in the country we call home…

Investing in Ilford

For too long we have been overlooked by a disinterested Conservative government…

Cuts to the Police endanger communities and endanger police officers too.

Jas Athwal - Leader of Redbridge Council

Today our fantastic refuse workers were out bright and early working hard for all residents.

This has not been an easy time for our staff who've had to work harder and for longer hours to cover those who are unwell or self-isolating.

I am so proud of Cllr John Howard and his team for pulling through in this difficult time. Thank you for everything.

If you see members of our cleansing team, please feel free to say hi and thank you (from a distance)!

We have had to make the difficult decision to pause our separate recycling service. This is to ensure we can still collect household waste & protect our staff

Your recycling will still be collected with your household waste, so please put it in black bin bags or in your wheelie bin if you have one.

Please bear with us, these are exceptional circumstances and the usual service will resume as soon as possible.

You can find out more about the changes to services we are having to make because of the impact of Coronavirus here - www.redbridge.gov.uk/coronavirus-information-hub/changes-to-services/

We have also produced a list of Frequently Asked Questions about the changes to waste services - www.redbridge.gov.uk/coronavirus-information-hub/changes-to-services/waste-and-recycling-changes-...
